Easter Service

Sunday April 9, 2023
Online and In-Person 10:30 AM
As the well-known Bill Gaither song tells us,
Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know he holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives.

What a wonderful promise! The Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 makes the statement that the resurrection of Jesus is the most important part of the incarnation of Jesus. Paul tells us that if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless, our faith is futile, and we are still in our sins. If Christ has not been raised from the dead, then those who have fallen asleep (died) in Christ are also eternally lost. Lastly, Paul tells us that if Jesus did not raise from the dead, Christians are of all people to be most pitied (ESV, 1 Cor. 15:14,17-19).

But Jesus has been raised from the dead! Jesus is alive! The resurrection of Jesus guarantees us life! Jesus lived a sinless life for us, died a sacrificial death for us, and rose triumphantly conquering sin and death for us!

This Sunday, will you join me as we shout Andrew Peterson's lyrics:
He took one breathAnd put death to deathWhere is your sting, O grave?How grave is your defeat?I know, I know His heart beats.
